Academy
Offering formal digital champion training

Digital Unite Academy

In March 2012 Digital Unite will be officially launching its new Academy which will offer accredited training to people who wish to develop in-depth, formal digital championing skills.

This accredited training is known as the Digital Champion ITQ, a new and innovative e-learning syllabus to help people learn how to use digital technologies and how to engage, inspire and teach others. Provided as part of the nationally recognised Information Technology Qualifications (ITQ) framework, it is supported throughout by dedicated online tutors and is structured into three specific learning journeys.

  • How to use and employ a wide range of digital technologies
  • How to inspire and engage others to do the same, from the beginner upwards
  • How to work with individuals and communities to sustain, renew and extend digital skills and learning opportunities

As part of their learning, students will create an online portfolio which evidences the skills and knowledge gained and which will be assessed by a tutor. There is also the option to gain a formal Level 2 City & Guilds accreditation as part of working through the syllabus.

The project to develop the Digital Champion ITQ follows the receipt of a grant from the Cabinet Office Transition Fund and allows Digital Unite to build on its fifteen years’ experience of capacity building people and organisations to develop and deliver digital literacy.
